If you own a small business, or if you want to start or buy a small business or franchise, the Federal goverment has a loan program to help you.  These loans for small businesses are called SBA loans.  The acronym "SBA" stands for Small Business Administration, which is a branch of the Federal government.

So why is the government here to help you?  The Federal government knows that small businesses create a very large percentage of all of the new jobs created annually in this country.  The Federal government is trying to assist in the creation, development, and expansion of small businesses so that hopefully they will grow into much larger companies that hire lots of American workers.
